Welcome to the Feather Script

For me writing has always been more of a means to an end. Getting good grades in school. Advocating for a cause or policy that is important to me. Processing the ups and downs of life. I now find myself in a space professionally and personally where I want to write in an effort that combines these parts into a whole that helps contribute to the broader narrative change that is happening around what makes us and our communities healthy, what healing can look like, and how do we create a more just and equitable world. I have some ideas but many more questions and unfinished observations that I aim to share and see if they can mature with the right amount of light and cultivation. I chose the name Feather Script because in my paternal Grandmother's culture, the Bamum people of current day Cameroon (we are descended from Sultan Njoya of Foumban, I'm sure more on that later) a feather is a symbol of Unity and in clinical practice a "script" is short for "prescription," a medical doctor's most common form of treatment. A form of healing. (It also serves as a literary nod to handwriting).
